I'm in Calcutta, where I've spent countless hours designing and refining my ideas for the debut jewellery collection. The designs are ready, and the vision is clear, but now comes the crucial step - turning those designs into reality.
And that's what led me to Jaipur. Known far and wide for its jewellery-making prowess, Jaipur seemed like the perfect place to find skilled artisans who could bring my creations to life. Little did I know, I was about to stumble upon something truly special.
As I explored the workshops and alleys of Jaipur, I found myself drawn to the smaller villages surrounding the city. And it's there that I uncovered a hidden gem - a little slice of Bengal right in the heart of Rajasthan.
In these villages, I met artisans who hailed from different districts of Bengal, each bringing with them a unique mastery of their craft. From intricate filigree work to stunning enamel designs, their skills were truly awe-inspiring.
